Since it's nicknamed the Spice Island and it's a place where thousands of energetic foreign students attend classes at prestigious St. George's University, you know Grenada has the right ingredients to spice up your nightlife - not to mention your rum punch.

Bars and clubs in Grenada attract a mix of people and ages. Students from St. George's liven up the dance floors and mingle with Grenadians and tourists, everyone bobbing and weaving to the beats.

For an intriguingly Grenadian experience, head to the small town of Gouyave for Fish Friday. This is a tradition in which fishermen bring in their day's catch and cook over open flames off the town's narrow streets surrounded by live music and rum stands. This is one experience you won't want to miss.

The party scene in Grenada doesn't get going until midnight or later with Saturday being the most popular night to go out.

 Festivities usually begin at Di Vino, a small Italian wine bar that's open until 11 p.m. during the week and midnight on Friday and Saturday. This is where everyone gets their first drink and maybe a bite to eat, before heading out to the club of their choice.

After that, you have several choices, depending on how you'd like to spend your evening. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, a place to watch the game, play some pool, or even sing a bit of karaoke if the mood strikes, The Owl is the place to go. Located on the beach, you have the option of taking your drink outside to enjoy the balmy night air and the sound of waves crashing on the shore.

Dodgy Dock at True Blues is another option. It's a restaurant and lounge bar with dancing on Wednesdays (that's students' night but all are welcome) along with Fridays and Saturdays. Music here ranges from reggae to North American hip-hop.

And finally, for something a little more high-energy, Karma is your place. Recently opened, Karma is similar to a North American dance club. This is the place to go if you want to dance until dawn.
